Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re exploring therapy for yourself or your teen, these FAQs offer clarity about what to expect and how I work.
What issues do you help with?
I work with teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, relationship patterns, self-esteem concerns, identity exploration, perfectionism, stress, and long-standing habits that feel hard to change. I also specialize in sleep concerns and insomnia using CBT-I, an evidence-based approach to improving sleep. Learn more about my services here.
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
I currently offer in-person sessions through SelfWorks Therapy Group at our Midtown East office and telehealth sessions for clients located anywhere in New York State.
What ages do you work with?
I work with teens, emerging adults, and adults.
What is your session fee?
My full session fee is $300. A limited number of clients may have access to a sliding scale rate. I’m always transparent about fees and can help you determine whether your insurance offers reimbursement.
Do you accept insurance?
I’m currently in network with Northwell Direct through SelfWorks Therapy Group. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. If you’re unsure about your coverage, I can help you figure out what to ask your insurance provider.
What if I don’t have insurance and can’t afford the full fee?
I offer a limited sliding scale range for clients when appropriate. If I don’t have availability in that range, I’m happy to help you explore alternative options that fit your needs and budget, including referrals or using out-of-network benefits.
Do you offer consultations?
Yes, I offer a brief, no-cost phone consultation so you can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and get a feel for whether we’d be a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit, the goal is simply to see if working together feels right. If you’d like to schedule a consultation, visit my Calendly.
How long are sessions?
Sessions range from 45-55 minutes. This length supports depth and momentum while allowing time to process and reflect.
What can I expect in the first few sessions?
The first few sessions focus on getting to know each other, understanding what brought you in, and beginning to identify the patterns or experiences you’d like to explore. You don’t need to prepare anything, we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable. If you’re an adult client, we may use schema questionnaires early on to help guide our work.
How often do you meet with clients?
I meet with clients weekly. Consistency is important for building trust, noticing patterns, and maintaining momentum. At this time, I don’t offer biweekly or monthly sessions.
How do you work with teens, and do you involve parents?
With teens, I begin with a parent intake to gather background information, understand your concerns, and ensure we’re all aligned on goals. From there, I focus on building a warm, nonjudgmental relationship with the teen so they feel safe sharing openly.
When helpful, I collaborate with parents to support the teen outside of sessions while also protecting their privacy and autonomy. We’ll talk together about what level of parent involvement feels appropriate and supportive.
